In France, the first batch of the longtail cargo bike was sold out immediately and was immediately reproduced. Now the O2feel brand is also taking off in Germany. With the sporty equipment, you can get started right away, whether for errands in the city or trips into the countryside, says Sales Manager Denis Mortazavi in an interview.
Gina Lacroix/cargobike.jetzt: O2feel is one of those success stories that was founded in a garage. Can you tell us more about it to start with?
Denis Mortazavi: That's right. Our founders, Grégoire and Jean, are two engineer friends who started in their garage in 2009. In France, O2feel has established itself as an expert in the e-bike sector. We are particularly distinguished by our guarantee promise of 4 years or 40,000 kilometers.
For the past year and a half, we have been expanding our dealer network in Germany. Our cargo e-bikes are often the door opener in discussions with German specialist dealers.
The cargo bike as a door opener - we can also confirm the continued growth of cargo bikes in Germany. How have you experienced the recent cargo bike boom in France?
In addition to our e-bikes, we have seen strong demand in France in recent years for cargo bikes that enable larger transports. Longtail cargo bikes such as our Equo 5 Adventure are particularly popular in France. The first delivery of our longtail was sold out immediately in France and was immediately reproduced.
Variants of the Equo 5 Adventure
Congratulations! With its equipment and frame geometry, the 26-inch tires at the front and the smaller 20-inch wheel at the rear, your longtail cargo bike looks as if it would also be ideal for use outside of the city. Are outdoor fans your target group?
At O2feel, we attach great importance to excellent driving characteristics in development and design. Whether for shopping, school, sports, work or excursions - we want to offer bicycles for as many people as possible. Whether outdoor fans, commuters, parents or people without a car or second car.
The large 26-inch tire at the front ensures a very comfortable and familiar driving experience, while the 20-inch tire at the rear lowers the center of gravity for the load or passengers.
The Equo 5 Adventure increases off-road capability even further. We achieve this, among other things, through the combination of the powerful Shimano STEPS Cargo drive, robust Schwalbe PICK-UP Performance tires, a large battery with 720 watt hours and the suspension fork with shock absorption. This makes the Equo 5 Adventure particularly dynamic to ride, even when you are on field and forest paths.
What is the possible load capacity of the Equo 5 Adventure in detail?
Up to two children or one adult can be transported with the Equo 5 Adventure. The bike is designed for 80 kilograms on the luggage rack and an additional 15 kilograms on the front luggage rack, as long as the permissible total weight of 180 kg is not exceeded.
At the rear, the MIC HD interface offers numerous options for third-party accessories, such as child seats for small children or seat cushions and grab bars for older children.
For shopping, for example, there is the Maxi Bag with a capacity of 45 liters. So you can easily stow 90 liters on the sides. Or you can use the holder for children to safely transport a Eurobox.
We use weatherproof materials for our accessories to ensure they are really suitable for everyday use.
O2feel offers a comprehensive range of accessories so that everyone gets their money's worth - whether with children, when shopping or on the way to the train station with a visitor.
In October we will also be launching new accessories, including the retrofittable cabin for children, which will be available in the Family Pack Plus.
Cabin for children
Even when fully loaded on an excursion, no one seems to have to worry about range.
That's right. The model is equipped with a large 720 watt-hour battery. This is permanently installed in the frame and is therefore specially protected from dirt and moisture. A plug on the bike allows charging without having to remove the battery. When charging, the artwork that underlines the outdoor character of the bike is particularly noticeable.
The range calculator on our website gives you an idea of how far you can go with the battery. Of course, factors such as weight, topography and driving behavior have to be taken into account.
In addition, a variant with 835 watt hours will also be offered next year for those who need even more power.
But it is possible to remove the battery, or do you need an outside socket to charge it?
Of course that is possible. If you park the Equo 5 Adventure outside, you benefit from the additional protection against rain, theft and vandalism provided by the locked flap on the frame.

At €4799, you have an interesting price point for the Equo 5 Adventure. Where can you buy the bike in Germany and how does it work with maintenance and repairs?
O2feel relies on high-quality components and durability.
We work exclusively with specialist dealers and are continuously expanding our dealer network in Germany. You can find your local specialist dealer on our website. But we are also happy to hear from new dealers.
Our 4-year warranty or 40,000 kilometers on the battery means our customers are on the safe side and can enjoy their bike for a long time. Maintenance and repairs are ideally carried out by a local specialist dealer.
In addition to the price of the bike, I particularly recommend the accessory packages, which can save you money compared to buying individually.

We are expanding our color palette for the Equo 5 Adventure and for our other longtail models. In addition to green, there will also be a limited series in red.
